Nose Surgery

Second only to the eyes, the nose is the most prominent feature of the face. Thus it can be distressing when the nose does not appear in harmony with the rest of one’s appearance. Not surprisingly, Rhinoplasty, surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all cosmetic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of the nose, change the shape of the tip or bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. Although many desire Rhinoplasty to cosmetically enhance the shape of their nose, others seek surgery after a facial injury or to help relieve breathing problems. When having surgery to correct such a functional problem, medical insurance may cover a part of surgical costs.

Face and Endoscopic Brow Lifts

The best candidate for facelift is a person whose face and neck has begun to sag but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well defined. Patients for the above procedures are in their 40’s and 50’s, but face and brow lifts can be done successfully on people in their 70’s or 80’s. Both procedures can make you look younger, which in turn may enhance your self-esteem. However, it is important to remember that a face-lift will not give you a totally different look, but rather a fresher version of yourself.

Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

As we age, loose or puffy skin can develop around the eyes. This can be exceedingly frustrating in that the excess skin can make us appear more tired or older than we are. By surgically enhancing the areas around the eyes, our “windows to the soul,” the entire face is given a more youthful, rested appearance.

Dr. Boss’s surgical technique’s focus on removing fatty bulges above and below the eyes, as well as removing hanging skin from the upper or lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty is often done in conjunction with a face-lift, brow lift or laser skin resurfacing.

Tattoo Removal

Dr. Rapaport feels that greater than 95% fading of the tattoo may be accomplished with laser treatments.  However, it is very important to know that over 100 tattoo inks are in use worldwide today, none of which are regulated by the FDA. Not knowing which tattoo ink, how deep or how much was used, makes it impossible for the physician to predict the degree of removal on any given tattoo.
